Thomas Weston Segura (born April 16, 1979) is an American stand up-upwards comedian, writer, author, actor, and podcaster. Segura co-hosts the Your Mom'south House podcast with his married woman and fellow comedian Christina Pazsitzky. Segura also co-hosts the podcast Two Bears Ane Cave with friend and young man comedian Bert Kreischer.
Early on life [edit]
Segura was born on April 16, 1979, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Rosario "Charo" Segura and Thomas Nadeau Segura. His male parent was a Outset Vice President of Merrill Lynch.[1] [2]
Tom grew upwardly speaking Spanish and spent his summers in Lima, Peru.[iii] He graduated from Saint Edward's School in Vero Beach, Florida, and from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, Due north Carolina.[four] At age 19, he overdosed on GHB and barbarous into a short coma.
Career [edit]
Segura began stand-up comedy shortly after graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne Academy. On episode 568 of Your Mom's House, Segura mentioned he was doing one-act in the evenings for the first few years while belongings downwards other daytime jobs. Segura has described interning at Kopelson Entertainment so having his first paid job in the industry equally a logger, producing transcripts of reality shows such as Extreme Makeover and My Large Fatty Obnoxious Boss.[five]
Segura has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival,[6] The Comedy Festival, the Global Comedy Festival in Vancouver, and Merely For Laughs Comedy Festival.[vii] Segura was also a San Francisco regional finalist on Last Comic Standing 2.
Segura has been a frequent invitee on The Joe Rogan Experience. His first advent was on episode 20.
In 2018, Segura and Pazsitzky landed a TV deal with CBS, who gave a pilot product commitment for their show The Little Things.[viii] Segura's 4th special for Netflix, Ball Pig, premiered on March 24, 2020, and a Spanish-language special was planned for the fall of 2020, earlier the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.[9]
In 2010, Segura and Pazsitzky started the podcast Your Mom's Business firm, which they both host.[ten]
Segura released a book in 2022 titled I'd Like to Play Alone, Please, a collection of humorous essays. He said near the volume: "This is not a memoir, this is not an autobiography. It's a collection of stories, which is an extension of what I practise every bit a comedian, which is I tell stories, a lot."[11]
Personal life [edit]
Segura is from Cincinnati, Ohio,[12] and has lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mequon, Wisconsin; Vero Embankment, Florida; and Los Angeles, California.[13] He has 2 sisters Jane and Maria[14] and is related to the neurobiologist and podcast host Andrew D. Huberman.[15]
Segura and his married woman and ii children live in Austin, Texas.[16] [17] [18]
